With more than 30 years of real estate development experience, Paul Busching leads the Prominence construction team, bringing a pragmatic approach to building and renovation projects, to result in on-time, on-budget developments. With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, a graduate degree in Construction Management from University of Texas at Austin and a MBA from Northern Illinois University, Busching’s impressive education background coupled with his professional experience has allowed him to lead teams to award-winning projects throughout his career.
Busching got his start as a construction engineer and senior project manager in the D.C. area, focused on a variety of developments in the first 10 years of his career, including office buildings, churches, museums, movie theatres, assisted living and grocery stores – most notably some of the first Fresh Fields Markets, a Maryland-based natural foods grocer, which later merged with Whole Foods. Busching led a number of projects to win quality awards before he transitioned into the hospitality development world. As a vice president of development with Hillcrest Development, Busching oversaw more than 40 projects across 16 states, working with the majority of the limited service brands, including AmeriSuites through its transition to Hyatt Place. In 2007, Busching launched BASK Development as a managing partner. In his tenure leading the BASK team, Busching was awarded a ‘North American Renovation of the Year’ in 2011 by Country Inn & Suites and a ‘US Renovation of the Year’ in the same year by Holiday Inn Express.
Busching fastidiously brings innovation alongside accuracy to both new-build and renovation Prominence projects, resulting in long-lasting developments exceeding owner expectation and guest satisfaction.
